The distinctive dorsal fins of the Roosterfish normally remain retracted in a deep groove along the fish's back, but when the fish is excited the fins rise. .It is a predator of small fishes. When hooked or in pursuit of prey it will raise its dorsal fin like a flag and leap repeatedly over the surface.

Multiple transparent colors dance across the surface and allow the natural beauty of the wood grain to display through. The brushed aluminum fins and bone pickup the light and complement the colors. Each piece has the same body but not the same delineation of color. Each is totally unique. The body is soft maple, a sustainable hardwood harvested in the USA. The transparent colors are blended in a resin that is totally VOC free. All the necessary hardware to hang this piece are included.
